We had special guests just before.

They keep visiting here every year from Taiwan and this time was the 9th time in a row.

They have known that :

the time my daughter was born.

the time we joined the Dosojin Fire Festival for my son.

the time my son was born.

the time before we got married.

We are now like a family with them :D

When they stay here, we always drink a lot of beer together and have a lot of talk about what has been going on for the past year.

Some members of them always leave ski boots here for the next season.

When they left here, I was moved to tears....

We do not know how to appreciate and do hope to help they have precious memories in Nozawa onsen again.

Thank you very much and we hope to see you next year!

SKI & SNOWBOARD LESSONS : Nozawaonsen Ski School

The Nozawa Onsen Ski School offers a variety of lessons and activities throughout the Ski Season ranging from general ski and snowboard, kids' and private lessons to snow shoeing tours and camps. Whether it is intense one-on-one training with a professional coach or you're just looking to enjoy the scenic trails, there's something available for all ages.

General Ski & Snowboarding Lessons
Ski and snowboarding classes are held every day on a regular basis ranging from beginners to advanced lessons. Full day lessons as well as morning and afternoon half day lessons are available. Enrolments are done on the day of the lessons during reception times at the Nozawa Ski School desk. Classes will be divided according to experience and technical skills and, as such as, the lesson plans will change depending on the classes. Full Day Lesson
*Lesson Time : 10:00 - 12:00, 13:15 - 15:15
*Prices : 4,000yen per person.
*Enrolment : 8:30 - 10:00

Morning Lesson
*Lesson Time : 10:00 - 12:00
*Prices : 3,000yen per person.
*Enrolment : 8:30 - 10:00

Afternoon Lesson
*Lesson Time : 13:15 - 15:15
*Prices : 3,000yen per person.
*Enrolment : 12:30 - 13:15

The Nozawa onsen Ski School also offers discounts for a full day lift and lesson package. Only available with the general adults lessons for ski and snowboarding, a full day lift pass will be included in a full day lesson for a total of 7,500yen. Please go to the Ski School front desk during their reception times.
Please note that the class lessons are predominantly in Japanese and there are no guarantees for English speaking staff. Please refer to the Private Lesson for it.

Private Lessons
Whether it is for a family, a school class, a club or even for business groups, the Nozawa onsen Ski School also provides qualified instructors for private lessons. As English speaking instructors are in limited supply, early reservations are recommended in order to secure your lessons.

Earthquake

Tragically a huge earthquake occurred with dozens of times in Japan on 11th Mar, and the damage has been serious. It occurred near Nozawaonsen area early in the morning of 12th Mar as well.

We got a lot of heartwarming emails from our guests visited before.

The situation here was that some buildings and parts of snow area got damage, so that some of ryokans and hotels were suspended, the some lifts at the snow area were in need of repair right after the earthquake.

Our ryokan also got some damage, but fortunately not serious and did not need to be closed.

We all are OK here!

Small earthquake keeps coming here now, so we still need to pay attention though.

Everything in Nozawa has become normal and the ski resort has opened already.

The JR East Pass Special is a very economical ticket that can be used for a limited time between Sept. 1 to Nov. 30, 2010. With this pass, you can freely get on and off JR East Shinkansen, limited express, and other trains all you want. It is available for three days of your choice within a ten-day period. You get unlimited travel on the Narita Express connecting Narita Airport and the Tokyo area as well as Shinkansen and limited express trains to Shinshu (Nagano), Nikko, Sendai and Aomori. The JR East Pass Special is even available for travel on trains other than those of JR East going from Tokyo to Izu, Naoetsu and the Nikko area, as well as trains in the Shinshu (Nagano) area.

Lift Ticket 2009/2010 (They might be changed for 2010/2011 season)
We sell the discount lift tickets. If you need them, please ask at the front desk.
1 day ticket : 4350yen (child 2000yen)
2 day ticket : 8000yen (child 3900yen)
3 day ticket : 11300yen (child 5200yen)
4 day ticket : 15000yen (child 6800yen)
5 day ticket : 18300yen (child 8300yen)
6 day ticket : 21800yen (child 9800yen)
7 day ticket : 25000yen (child 11300yen)
8 day ticket : 28000yen (child 12600yen)
*Child : under 15 years old.
*Infant : under 5 year old do not need any tickets to ski.
*Non-consecutive ski day ticket. Ex; You may use it for any 3 days out of 6-day stay.

Lift Ticket Opening Campaign
The lift company usually have a opening campaign from the season started until around 20th Dec every year.

RENTAL SKI/SNOWBOARD
If you need a rental ski or snowboard, there are many rental shops in this town and we have special contract with one of them. The shop is only 2-3 mins away from our Ryokan and the price is 1000yen per day for each ski set, ski wear and snowboard set.

ACCESS
If you plan to come over here from Narita airport, I do suggest you the special taxi, Chuo Taxi. The taxi takes you to here directly from Narita and the price is nice. If you would like to take it, please refer to the web site.
Getting to our ryokan from the Nagano station, I would like to advise you taking a bus from the Nagano station then the bus directly comes to Nozawa Onsen. Please get off the Central Parking and takes 3mins to our hotel on foot. Please also refer to our web site.

Luggage Delivery Service
There is a very reliable luggage delivery service in Japan. Ski gear, boots or snowboards can be sent directly from anywhere in Japan to our hotel. It takes about 2 days, so if you plan to travel somewhere before coming to Nozawa Onsen, I do recommend this service to you. You can find the counter of this delivery service at the Narita airport.
