Nozawa Onsen
is one of the largest and most popular ski resorts in Japan and
besides there are more than 13 public hot spring baths that can be used free of charge.
There are more than 30 hot springs with 100% natural hot water in Nozawa onsen. The hottest is the Ogama spring where the water temperature reaches about 90 degrees Celsius. This spring has become the "kitchen" of the village as it is used to boil eggs and vegetables. The water from the Ogama spring is also uesd to serve the public hot spring baths of this village.
